What Is the Caledonian Sleeper?
The Caledonian Sleeper is the UK’s premier overnight train service. Running six nights a week, it connects London Euston to destinations across Scotland — from city hubs like Edinburgh and Glasgow to more remote, scenic spots like Inverness, Fort William, and Aberdeen.
It’s the perfect blend of transport and experience: skip the airports, save daytime travel hours, and wake up in a new place ready to explore.
Accommodation & On-board Experience
The service offers a range of accommodation: from ordinary seated coaches (cheapest) to sleeper cabins. Cabins include options like twin-bunk rooms, double-bed rooms, and more premium “Club” or “Caledonian Double” en-suite cabins (depending on booking class).
If you pick a sleeper cabin (especially higher tiers), you get extras: access to a Club Car (relax-and-eat car), breakfast either in your room or the Club Car, and — for premium cabins — en-suite shower/toilet facilities.
For those on the more budget-oriented seated tickets, you get a standard seat and access to lounge/club-car/social-car — but no private bed or bedding.
The Caledonian Sleeper isn’t just a way to get from A → B — it’s a journey in itself. With charming cabins, a social Club Car, and stunning views, it’s one of Britain’s most iconic travel experiences. Whether you’re heading north for a city break or a Highland adventure, this sleeper train turns the trip into part of the fun.
